Running speaker cable outside a building

Hello.

Only had my extension built about a year ago, at that time had speaker cable chased into the wall.

I need to change the rear speaker positions and upgrade the quality of cable.
Rather than chasing into the walls and then filling/painting etc I could just drill out, run the cable round the outside of this single storey detached extension and then drill back in again at the appropriate places.

Does this sound like a better idea than chasing?

Thanks

Why not run some plastic conduit to protect the wire if you're putting some decent quality stuff in - that's what I did, - pretty cheap from B&Q as well
