What I really need to know is the best option to run the cables from the AV Cabinet (Equipment: Sky+, Xbox 360, Amp, DVD Player) behind the Recliner and this has been located there because that is were the 2 Sky+ inputs com into the house.

Looking at a wall mounted Panasonic TH-42PZ80B.

Does this plasma have an external tuner with it as well that I will need to find room for?

What sort of flooring do you have because that might be the tidiest way to go about it. Either channel in your cables if it's concrete or under boards if it's boards. If not that you might think about coving and run the cables round the ceiling. Less tidy would be to put trunking all the way round but the door to the right makes that not a very descreet option.

We have wooden flooring down with coving surround, also what is the best option to control all of the Av Components from that layout?

You say that the equipment has to go behind the recliner because of the cables from the dish, but would you actually prefer it somewhere else? Im just thinking that it would be alot easier and cheaper to extend the dish cables to a new location rather than having to buy longer scarts, component leads etc to run the equipment to a new location.

Thanks good point, Have been thinking about all scenario's really.

The only reason for the change is that we currently have a Double Oppli were the sofa is at the moment with all the AV equipment on it.

We have a baby on they way and was just really thinking ahead of when it starts to crawl/touch/walk etc

I was going to build a floating wall as per the plan and mount the plasma on it and just 1 idea was to have the AV equipment in that corner near the sky+ inputs.

If the Av equipment is over in that corner would the remotes work OK for example, seeing as we would be facing the TV.

We could have the AV equipment in a cabinet with say glass doors under the TV.

That is why I was asking for help, there is alot of more experienced people on here and just after some advice of what would work best.

I guess, depending on your AVR you could have just a single HDMI running to the TV under the floorboards and an aerial for the Freeview. I can't see there being any problem with your remotes working with the equipment in the corner.

I had a quick look and it has an integrated Freeview decoder, according to DIgital Direct.

Babies, before potty training they should get not posting jammy toast into the DVD player training. Either that or genetically engineered AV eqpt friendly babies. :D

Generally speaking the best place to put your AV equipment (cabling-wise) is close to the TV, so if this is an option I would look into it. The reason being that if you have the kit in a far corner, you will have a range of cables that you need to run fairly long lengths of (potentially scart, component, HDMI, optical etc) all of which can get quite expensive. However if you have all of the kit near the TV you can use shorter/standard lengths and it is only speaker cables (assuming you have 5.1/7.1) that would need to be run round the room - which you would need to do wherever you position your amp. It will also make it easier when you inevitably decide to upgrade something and find it needs a different cable.

Having been through the baby/toddler stage (and thankfully past it now!) with 2 kids, they will get everywhere anyway so wherever you place the kit it won't matter - some sort of glass-fronted cabinet definitely a good idea, and in some way better if it's by the TV as at least you can see them going towards it rather than them attacking it in the corner whilst you're distracted watching TV!

With respect to the 42PZ80B, this is the plasma I have so can confirm it definitely has integrated Freeview tuner.

Excellent Thanks for you input, That is perhaps what I will have to look at I do have 5.1 and the cables are getting rather expensive already so might have to modify the Duo-Oppli I already have to be a bit cild proof (easier said than done)

Sorry, I think I'm being thick here in answering your question, but the floor isn't down in the loft yet. The construction of the loft extension is pretty standard - two big steels along each side of the loft, then joists hung across between the steels. They have just started putting down chipboard for the floor, and we will then carpet over that.

If I've missed the point of your question let me know and I'll do my best to answer it better!
