Advice on sitting room build.

Hi guys,

Until now I have always had my cables on show with my setup's.

I'm now about to purchase a Sony LCD that I'm planning mounting to a wall in my flat. The wall is plasterbaord but has joists behind so will screw to these.

What is the general height required for a TV to be on the wall ? Is there a rule or is it just down to personal preference ?

Also, cabling wise. I want to make a stealth install. I'm looking at being in the property for about a year and a half. I wanna ideally hide the cables in the wall. Would it be good to connect enough cables to the TV via a hole in the wall, down insde the plasterboard and then connected to a wall plate ?

The flat has a blanking plate over an old double electric socket that is no longer used that will be under the TV.

Anyone know where I can get a wall plate that fits a standard double socket mount ?
