Not mine but spaceshipmonkey posted this in the furniture section. no doors though but gaps rather than draws.

Re: false walls-any ready made available?

Slightly more expensive options?!!

http://www.standanddeliver.com/acata...00_Cherry.html

or a bit cheaper

http://www.furniturefavourites.co.uk...US-165-178.asp

the top one looks seriously good, but you'd need a big room and a massive bank balance, its a bit overpowering.

To be honest, with any bit of furniture that big you'd be wise to secure it to the wall anyway for safety so some basic diy knowledge will be required.

Does the yahama sound projector have its own bracket? If so I can see no reason why this would be a problem. To mount the tv presumably you will need some form of bracket in any case. The manufacturer/retailer of the furniture should be able to tell you whether or not it is rated to take the weight. IMHO if you mount the tv to the back panel (which is obviously the point of these) then you must anchor whole unit to the wall.

I quite like this one from Ikea, though when I saw it in store the sliding doors were reflective black glass. Again would probably need a decent size room to not look hopelessly out of place.

Re: false walls-any ready made available?

You can combine one of these with one of these to get one of these or you could get one of these. All from ikea. If you go for the last link then ignore the instructions and put the back panel pieces together before attaching them to the back of the unit or you'll wind up with a small but noticeable gap.

Re: false walls-any ready made available?

thanks for the replies fellas. the one from stand deliver is huge, it's going in my bedroom which is in the loft so space is limited. The benno is what i really wanted but the drawers instead of doors put me off.

I am not moved towards the 2 pieces that go together the width of 170 is what i need to see if i can accomodate. thanks

With the Benno you could consider diying the drawers into doors and putting in an additional shelf. If you have an ikea nearby then go take a look. My parents have one and I was going to mess about with the layout, keep the drawer mechanism for the front but use it like a sliding door and have the extra shelf but in the end my parents lack of equipment meant it really wasn't necessary.

I wish I had checked the back before cobbling it all together. The back comes in two pieces, joined vertically, but you are meant to connect each side seperatley. The problem is that the predrilled holes the back screws into actually leaves the two pieces misalligned. Far better to connect the back and then reposition the holes for a smarter finish.

Re: false walls-any ready made available?

Nice choice. Have a check of the back before you put it together to make sure it's going to line up properly to give the smartest finish.

by the way, it's going to hold a 32" Samsung, and a Yamaha Sound bar which weighs 10kg can the wall hold it?

Don't know about the Soundbar but my parents have a 42" Sammy. Ikea say the wall holds a max 50kg, how much does your Sammy weigh?

Re: false walls-any ready made available?

sammy should only weight in 20 tops, i think, but both together far less than 50kg,

damn it, all i wanted to do was get rid of the old av amp , which has resulted in £240 on the sound bar, > which now needs a stand which has resulted in £179 > Tv bracket for stand £20 plus > £40 bracket for Yamaha sound bar

£500 later i should hopefully be done.
