Mounting LCD on wall advice

In need of some advice. I have a 40" Sony D3000 which I want to mount in the wall, but when I bought the TV just under a year ago I bought a stand for £200 extra. I'm now renovating my living room and thought I may as well mount my LCD on the wall, but I really don't want to get rid of the stand now as I won't get very much money back for it.

Anyway, I'd like your thoughts if the set-up would look any good using a similar stand as I've attached? Examples would be appreciated.

My stand is similar to this one:

Thanks in advance.
