What height for a wall mount?

Just started redecorating, and in the process moving the TV from a stand to a wall mount.

I put the mount up, but its in the middle of the wall vertically.

It is higher up than it was on the stand, but not as high as you often see people place them on walls.

My wife thought it looked a little odd and was expecting me to put it higher, but more from expectation from other wall mounts she had seen I guess. Asthetically, I guess it does seem a little strange being bang in the centre of the wall.

Whereas, where it is, it seems perfect for when you are sat down as you down have to look up at all.

I can easily move the mount - the plasterer isn't due for a couple of weeks yet. Or should I leave it where it is?

That would do for me.

Re: What height for a wall mount?

Perfect height is when the middle of the screen is level with your eyeline when sat down in your seat.

My plasma is a little higher than eyeline, but only by about 10cm.

Stick cardboard same size as tv to the wall, sit and watch for ten minutes, if happy fit tv.

Where it's comfy is more important than where SWMBO want's it

Re: What height for a wall mount?

Depends on your room and seating height i have seen some far far too high, never been asked to raise a screen but asked to lower them before mine is 800mm from floor normal is between 800 and 1100 (higher the further away you are)

The screen (not the rest of the TV) is 920mm from the floor. So that seems to fit.
