Projector Screen over a mirror

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to hang a projector screen on my chimney breast wall for the Panasonic AX200. The chimney is roughly 2m wide and has a very very large mirror with wooden surround occupying most of it.

What I'd like to do is to hang a screen at the top of the mirror (Into the wall) and have it come down over (Infront of) the mirror for viewing and be able to retract again afterwards.

What would be the best way to hang the screen and keep it clear of the mirror so it could be raised/lowered easily? Also any screen recommendations would be great, I've never used one before so don't really know where to start or what to look for (Have always projected onto a wall)

Thanks
Dan

Re: Projector Screen over a mirror

Sounds like a similar setup to me, i have a framed picture on the chimney breast though instead of a mirror. I went for a sapphire mayfair screen from cvs, http://www.cvsmedia.co.uk/shop/proje...sf-a-3502.html

i'll be honest though i haven't put it up yet so no idea how it'll look. it can be attached to a ceiling, wall or it can be suspended. not sure how i'm going to do mine yet till i mess around with it.
good luck with yours.

edit, screen is remote contol, up, down and stop and i got the new model than the one in the link which was cheaper actually.

Re: Projector Screen over a mirror

how do you plan on getting it to miss your picture? I though maybe put shelf like brackets on the chimney and hang the screen from it (If it has hooks) this would allow it to stand out from the chimney enough to miss the mirror.

Cheers

I wont know exactly till i try, either on the wall and the overhang will miss it or on the ceiling just in front of it. I suppose i could even take the picture down each time i used it. Dont even know if it till hit the fireplace surrounf yet if it drops that low. All trial and error.
My screen can take hooks so you could hang it like you suggest.

Well, since it isn't a "custom install" as such, let's try DIY. Moving >>>>>>>>>>>>
