how many fixings should i use in each baton i have two batons that are 225cm for the left and right sides and two that are 175cm for the top and bottom .

as many as you can , seriously , are you on about fixing timber to tiimber ??? , if you are then i would get some steel corner brackets from b&q or wherever , helps to firm the corners up

fixing the wood to the wall to make like a floating wall then mdf to the batons

1 good fixing every 300 mm should be more than enough i reckon , dont use plugs and screws , you want anchors , i.e. rawlbolts , pick the right type for the wall you are fixing to ( brick / concrete block or thermalite block ) and you are good to go
