Connecting PC to HDTV

After finally working out why I wasn't getting audio over a DVI-HDMI cable I got it working by using the little non-descript cable that was included in my graphic cards packaging. I then connected my PC and TV for some big screen gaming and a little TV/movie watching. However, when i was making sure I had solid connections I went and broke the SPDIF connector clean off the card. So, I have a few questions...

1. Can I get away with buying a seperate cable to connect audio from my PC to the TV?

2. If yes to the above, is the cable I require the TOS Link spdif? If not can someone supply me with a link to what I need so I don't make further mistakes?

My motherboard has a dedicated SPDIF out socket that I think I can use. And the TV has a few audio inputs 'round the back.

The equipment I want to connect is as follows:

Tv information:Toshiba Regza 37XV505

Motherboard information: Gigabyte P35-DS3L

Graphics card info: XFX GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3 XT

Like I said, I actually had the whole thing up and running until my clumsy fingers went and spoiled the whole show. I hope I can get away with just buying a single cable instead of a brand new graphics card and would very much appreciate any pointers.

Re: Connecting PC to HDTV

You've got a couple of options;

a) TOSLINK optical lead, it will go straight from the back of your MOBO into the TV.
b) CO-AX cable, as above.

Can get either at maplins for less than a tenner.
