Where to buy the wallplates that "cover up the hole"?

Ive seen some wallplates on here and in the Gallery forum people use to hide the hole in the wall where a few cables come out. The ones Im particularlt interested in are the ones that are rectangular in shape, rather than sqaure, as this would suit my situation (being in Australia, the rectangular shape is standard). Seen one in particular on here (just can find it) that looks like the "cable through" is two carbon fibre brushes facing each other, if that makes sense!!!

Any ideas where to buy/

Or make you're own.

Buy standard blank face plates and drill them with a hole saw. You can then produce the exact configuration to fit your needs, and looks better too in my opinion

Re: Where to buy the wallplates that "cover up the hole"?

I've bought and used these brush faceplates in the past, and I think I'd be tempted to make my own next time. Looking at them, they look like standard network outlet plates, the type where the fitting you need clips into the standard aperture. Then, what appears to be simply door draught excluder has been glued on the back. So you might be able to pick up the brush material for trivial cost at a discount store for example.

As an alternative, I remember someone made a neat looking outlet using the round fitting from a halogen downlight. Looked very neat, they're cheap, and you can get them in chrome, brass, white etc.
