Hi,
I'm recessing a wall mount direct to a brick wall by chasing out plaster, then putting a 60mm false wall around it, which will have a 60mm recess to frame the plasma...so the 50" plasma will protrude from that recess by about 60mm.
Questions;
1. Will I be able to have a mains spur (like for the dishwasher etc) chased into the brick right behind the wall mount (there is a square cut in it for this to be poss.) & run the pf10 mains cable behind the back of it to the spur. I would cut the moulded plug off?

2. As the panel will not be flush with the new wall, can I get away with a 50mm frame around it? I'm thinking that even when plasma's are a few cm thinner, this frame size would still be fine. What do you think?

- OK, I'm not exactly clear on what you are proposing, but are you saying you want to bury the flex in the wall down to the socket where you are taking the spur from? I wouldn't personally do this. I'd suggest the following -
From the socket you want to take the power from, run normal 2C&E mains cable chased into the wall to a point behind your tv.
At this point, chase in a back box, and fit a fused spur outlet plate (I'd use a switched type, but no neon as they can generate interference).
Take your tv's mains flex, cut the plug off, and connect it into the outlet plate.

This way, your mains wiring is hidden, but the flex to the tv is not buried in the wall. You can cut the flex to a relatively short length, but leave enough slack in it to be able to connect it to the tv before you lift it onto the wall. You can push the loop up behind the tv when it's mounted.

I don't know about your q2, I've not done anything like that.

When I cut the plug, should I keep the main length coz there is one of those interference magnet thingy molded into the cabe near the plug & one near the other end that connects to the plasma?

I've heard people say it doesn't matter if you cut the ferrite off at the plug end. I personally didn't want to damage the cable that came with my new screen, so found a spare kettle-type lead in the garage and used that. No ferrites at all, and no problems.
