Another floating wall, around a fireplace

Hi guys, after all the great floating walls I’ve seen on the forums I thought I’d take the plunge.

So here are a few pictures of my floating wall above our fireplace.

Please let me know what you think and if you have a questions.

Cheers

Nice Boomerang.

I prefer the floating wall in picture 4 before you extend it down past the sides of the fireplace. It looks more in proportion that way. Do the lights shine around the inside by the fireplace, or just the outside of the floating wall.

At the moment the lights are just around the edge but I think I'm going to whack them in around the fireplace too. I've got a load of rope light left as that was the initial plan but "her indoors" was not convinced.................

They are Celestion AVS501 from Hyperfi in Barking (Essex) or via the web at

http://www.hyperfi.co.uk/default.asp...ion_avs501_new

I managed to get 5 speakers for £199.00 on Ebay, can't fault the sound or build quality.

Just make sure you pair them with a decent Sub. I have mine paired with a Miller & Kreisel KX-10SF and they sound great.

does look nice just then without the legs types extension but im guessing the whole point is to be able to get the wires down to the cabinet without chopping out anything in the wall or using trunking down the wall so there necessary

I have been looking at this over my fireplace so glad i stumbled across this thread and getting the wall made up just like in pic 4 and thought about making these kinds of legs down each side but looks like i will have to chop out of the wall and plaster etc to get it all hidden

@ hatchn looks great mate sinking in the TV and speakers works really well

Re: Another floating wall, around a fireplace

i think it would look better if the false wall was painted the same colour as the wall behind. imo it would look more subtle.

Hi,

These speakers use to retail for around £1250 for 5 without a sub so they are a super bargain at the price - excellent build quality and they blend in great with a flatscreen set up - how well do you rate the sound?

Suave!
