Matching faded paint colours

Long shot here but wondered if anybody might have some tips.

I've just chased in some cables, and I have the paint that was used on the walls but the wall was painted a couple of years ago, any tips on getting the new paint to match, or am I doomed to repaint the whole 24 feet of wall from scratch..

Re: Matching faded paint colours

Hi m8,

you could also try takeing a flake of paint off the wall and going to hombase, b&q etc, some of the stores have those paint mixing gizmos, all you have to do is provide a sample of the colour you want ie paint flake, fabric etc and they will scan it and make the paint that colour.

I dont know how good it is but worth a shot.

Hmm, interesting idea, I wonder if they could actually get closer match to the marginally faded existing paint on the wall than my can of the exact same paint.

Got to be worth a try, repainting the entire wall is going to be a massive operation with 15 " off bookshelves etc to move not to mention removing the plasma from the wall etc.
