How / Where to mount my centre speaker in new install - with pics!

I am installing a new home cinema, and im looking for some advice.

Im using a ceiling mounted Panasonic Projector to throw an image across the room onto a Grandview screen that drops infront of my window. The window also has a 'black-out blind' built into the recess to allow day-time or summer evening viewing. The blind is down in the images.

My left and right channel speakers will be mounted on the black brackets you can see either side of the screen - and the surround channels and sub are sorted. My problem is with the centre channel.

In 'Pic2' i have placed the centre speaker on the window sill in roughly the correct position. The wiring for the centre channel is under the radiator in a coil, and can come up behind it and connect to the speaker.

As you can see in 'Pic3' though, the screen drops down just infront of the window sill, and if it stopped any higher the aspect ratio wouldnt be right - so I cant have the centre speaker on the window sill as it would be blocked by the screen. Having a speaker on a window sill isnt much good anyway as the sun would hit it for most of the afternoon without the blind down.

My only option as i see it is to mount the speaker on a shelf under the sill, and over the radiator.
My current plan is to buy two long shelf brackets and have a peice of glass cut for the shelf. I would have the shelf out far enough from the wall so that the glass isn't above the radiator. The speaker wire can come up behind the radiator, and connect to the speaker as the glass would not be touching the back wall, so the heat can escape.

It is a Quad speaker and has no mounting holes on it whatsoever - so mounting it on a proper bracket is not an option.

Im a bit concerned about the exposure to heat, but glass isnt a very good conductor, and leaving a gap between the wall and glass should allow most of the heat to rise past it.

Any comments / advice would be greatly appreciated before i start though! (and no, losing the radiator is not an option).

I would have thought that if the shelf was larger than the speaker, you shouldnt have too many problems. Keep the speaker as high as possible above the radiator. The only other option would be above the screen angled down, but as you say, theres no mounting holes or anything. That or one of those perforated screens so you can have the speaker behind it, think they might be expensive though and you would still have to have the speaker on the window sill.

Do you mind if I ask how much your blackout blind cost and where from?

Cheers
