Screws / Bolts ?

I'm after some screws / bolts for mains sockets and light covers. I've bought some in a black nickel finish and the supplied screws are too short.

I've been to Homebase, Focus and B&Q and they all sell them in plain and Gold finish, but not in black.

Maplin have some in plain finish, and they call them pattress screws, but they're the only place I've seen them referred to by that name.

Any idea where I could get some from? A link would be helpful, I've been trawling the internet for ages now...

You can buy the longer steel finish ones in most diy stores. I would buy those and try spraying them. You could practice on your old short ones. Then cover with a laquer to preserve the finish when you are fastening etc

Re: Screws / Bolts ?

you can also buy the little rubber caps to go over the screws, they will be ***** as well, but are far easier to paint

OK it seems I'll have to stick to regular ones then, guess they look alright as they are.

Re: Screws / Bolts ?

You might be able to get some standoffs or something like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...37594&doy=20m2
They are not the right ones as Patress screws are 3.5mm thread. It might be worth calling into an electricians merchants as they may do them?
