Did you put the cables in a conduit or plaster them in?

Re: How i mounted 42" Plasma on wall (photos)

Magicsid,

Nice install - very neat. Please don't take this as criticism - but why so high on the wall - why not 2/3ft up the wall.

Don't you find it annoying lookin up to watch?

Why do people mount plasma's like 'pictures' or wall-art?

I know in a lot of average british homes people mount them above the fireplace out of necessity. But when you have the choice why have them so high - after all when we all had crt's we didn't have four foot stands to perch them on?

Re: How i mounted 42" Plasma on wall (photos)

The hight i mounted the screen was a bit of an issue when i was doing this. Its probally not as high as it looks, my eye level is probally a 1/4 of the way up from the bottom of the screen, so i am looking up a suppose very slightly but not enough for it to bother me.
Also if i did lower it there may have only been 1ft from the unit to bottom of the screen which would of made all the work id put in kind of pointless so i did want it to be worth all the work i'd done.

Re: How i mounted 42" Plasma on wall (photos)

I see yeah.

I have the same doors as you and looking in relation to the handle of the door my own plasma (wallhung like yours) is about 1ft lower than yours. I see what you mean the angle of the picture probably makes it look higher than it is.

Re: How i mounted 42" Plasma on wall (photos)

Looks a lovely job, definately rate it.

One question though, most of the installs I look at on here don't go for much width on the stereo. Your left & right speakers are what, 4ft apart? Only ask because Im doing one myself and going for room width.

Re: How i mounted 42" Plasma on wall (photos)

Yes thats right. there not too far apart but just right i think for the size of the room, its a small room and sounds great. You dont need them too far apart.

I rate it as well

The contrast between the dark unit and the walls looks good too
