Superb advice on how to soundproof home cinema rooms

I am just about to start a refit of my "family room" [well, that's what it's called to ensure I get total family support] and will happily post up some pictures as I go. I have the benefit of a builder helping me onsite which is good (as the house is being ripped apart and rebuilt) so dunno if that means I can post here or not.... They've just built a block wall to split a room in half and provide the right space. It's about 3.9m deep by about 4.5m long, so hopefully not too narrow for our room.

If anybody has any guidance about a) size of TV - I was thinking 46"...and b) best in-wall speakers....I'd be most grateful.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading many of the posts here with lots of good advice and ideas to borrow....

Just in case it's not been previously highlighted, this site is absolutely brilliant with lots of good advice about how to soundproof rooms and stop noise bleed.

More to come....

is it to stop sound from getting to your neighbours, or just another room in the house

I have a kid's bedroom directly above it and a partner that has persuaded the daughters that ordinary surround sound let alone loud is not good...
