Looking for advice for mounting for mounting my soon to be delivered LX508D on a "dry-lined" wall ie plasterboard with 1.5" cavity before solid block. Was looking at Pioneer flat wall mounting kit for LX508D. Will this do the job? What fixings should I use?

Anyone done same successfully...just concerned that I don't have €4k worth of TV come tumbling down within minutes of being installed!!.

Any thoughts?

I used B&Q M8 exanding bolts the 10cm long ones, in the red plastic pack - six in a pack I think.
That was for Samsung 40inch LCD on a cantilever wall mount - rock solid and i have same wall as you.

I used six B&Q M6 bolts in my cinema room for my other Samsung 40inch lcd, but that was for a flush wall mount bracket.

Because there was more leverage with the cantilever wall mount i used the bigger bolts. Neither screen will be going anywhere unless i want them to.

You will need a long drill bit, at least 15cm if you use 10cm bolts - when you drill, keep bit level. Screw the expanding plug onto the end of the bolt - make sure the plug doesnt rattle around in the hole in the wall you've just drilled or it will just spin around and not grip when you tighten the bolt.
It needs to be a tight fit when it goes in, tap the bolt head with a hammer to knock it in the hole.
Make sure the plug goes all the way into the hole so it anchors well, you may want to get a pencil to measure the depth of the hole in relation to the bolt and plug (before you knock the bolt in) to make sure its in far enough.

Once youve knocked it in far enough, unscrew the bolt - repeat this for each bolt. You're then ready to mount the bracket.

- You need to be careful that when you tighten the bracket up, you do not collapse the plasterboard back through that cavity to the blockwork. I solved this by adding spacers over the studbolts, in effect tightening up against these rather than the plasteboard. Obviously with such a large gap you will need to make sure your anchors are long enough.

Other people have had success with packing the gap, either with expanding foam (but beware, you can pop the board away from the wall as it expands) or other fillers.

I've recently wall mounted a 40" Samsung LCD on this type of wall, whilst I also used the wall anchors, I drilled a small pilot hole through the plasterboard and into the brickwork to start. This was opened to approx 3/4" in the plasterboard and the brickwork to the 12mm specified for the fixings.
I then used some 3/4" broom handle & cut it to size & drilled the centre so I had a non-compressible packing piece that fitted snugly against the brickwork and flush with the wall so I knew that I wouldn't be causing the plasterboard to collapse when I fixed the mounting bracket.

Cut some holes in the plasterboard about an inch and a half in diameter around where you want to put the bolts, hole saw works best, and fill with patching plaster. Drill as normal when properly dry.

Will be solid to tighten up to and wont stress the plasterboard in any way. Don't need any fancy bolts that can crack the block just the jumbo rawlplug/screw bolt type.
