I am currently planning the lighting for my new living room. I have read a few threads but they were inconclusive.

Any electrician or lighting experts in this forum?

How many spot lights do I need a living/TV room of 27m2?

Also any suggestions on types of lights and links would be appreciated.

This type of light sheilds the lamp which gets very hot from debris which could be flamable. Also the material inside expands to create a seal in the event of a fire to act as a barrier between floors.

You could go low voltage, but this just adds more components into the system that could fail.

The amount of lights depent on the decor. Dark floors, walls and furniature will require more than the opposite. As an estimate and a starting point I would go with 12.

This light seems to be 240v as opposed to low voltage.

I have read other post inthis forum and most of them concluded that low voltage gives a better quality of light.
