it started so easy

well after a few years of haveing a simple setup, we decided to decorate the sitting room after 4 years of putting it off,

here's what we started with

i decided to get all the walls and ceiling skimmed, however once i started to take the skirting and various other things from the walls we realised the base plaster was knackered so we ended up with this

every wall was taken back to brick and dot and dabbed back up

then i went and ordered some new bits,
hd65
92"electric screen
onkyo 605
kef 1005 (it's a small room)
wall mount fire
ps3
we then decided to put all the gear in the old fire place as the new one will sit above it, so it was cleared and boarded up to leave us with this

whilst the ceiling was down it was insulated as the room used to be cold

then it was boarded up

now the fun started i decided to put the screen up and box it in ready for plasteringso after a couple of hours we were left with this

placed the projector mount up in it's position to make sure it fired onto the screen ok

just ordered a new rad and a plumber mate to fit it one night this week before the plasterer comes on saturday, still plenty to do but it's getting there.

All the kit so far
sky hd
hd65
electric screen
old tosh 32"
onkyo 605
kef 1005
ps3

still need to run all the cables for the speakers, the leads for the amp and wire up the electrics in the chimney breast also ordered a new mount for the tv so that i can place it into the allcove and then pull it out when were watching it

Good job mate! With those snickers i'd say 'sparky'?

One thing i'd would do if its not too late is return the Kef 1005 for the larger 2005mk1 or mk2. The difference, even in a small room is huge! It will go from sounding (pls excuse my bluntness) a bit weedy to really authoritve.

Good luck, great job

had the 1005's for about 2 month now, so it's too late to take them back had it set up once and to be honest it was enough for me, though at the time i did pick the 2005's up then put them back down when the other half looked at me

That's looking excellent so far mate.

Love to see a good rake of pictures in the first post to get us hooked on it.

Can't wait to get my hands on a similar project.
