Isopon P38

I'm visiting the UK this week and I'm trying to arrange all the bits and bobs that I will need for my home cinema construction.

One of the things that has been recommended in various threads is the use of David's Isopon P38 filler for the purpose of filling MDF joins.

I've seen a few (small) online shops that sell it, as well as (of course) ebay.

However, I'm not sure

a) How much I'll need for an MDF cinema project? (I intend to use MDF around the ceiling to create a dropped ceiling border, so there will be plenty of joins to fill - room is 4.5m x 2.5m)

b) Whether I need to buy separate hardner, or does it usually come with everything required?

I was thinking of getting a 600ml container of the stuff:

http://www.wilcodirect.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1580

but then I noticed that some other sites sell P38 hardner too:

http://www.motortraders.co.uk/xcart/..._Hardener.html

Can anybody tell me what I need? Is 600ml plenty enough?

Also, where might I get this stuff from in a bricks & mortar store in the UK? Would halfords sell the stuff perhaps?

Many thanks!

yes they have, i got it from them. I cannot comment on how much you require, but you may have to give some room for wastage! i wasted a 25% as mixed with lot of hardner initially

Re: Isopon P38

Thanks Suniil.

Do you buy the hardner separately, or does it come with it?

I'm still not sure whether I should buy this stuff online or risk it in Halfords (Bath branch, the one in the middle of town and it doesn't look that big)...

How much did you buy for your project? (which is looking great BTW!)

Re: Isopon P38

Also, there seem to be two different numbers, i.e #1 and #2

ISOPON P38 No.1 Paste - 600ml Tin
ISOPON P38 No.2 Paste - 1.2 Litre Tin

Is one the hardner?

Sorry for the stupid questions - it is quite hard buying this stuff blind when you've never used it before

Re: Isopon P38

"P38 easy sand" - that's the product name. I bought 250ml pack, it comes with hardner as well. half of the pack was good enough to finish 12 feet (length) , 1.5cm (width) finish

HTH
