Could someone once over myset up quickly to check it's ok new to all this

Hi All

I'm hoping I can get some advice here, I've left this quite late as my installer is coming in 3 days time so here goes.

I've got a 42" Pioneer PDP not the new model but the one before and I have a few things that need to go into it as I'm wall mounting.

They are

Digi Box
Wii
DVD player (non HD)
Xbox 360

And soon I will add a PS3 & more than likely HD sky if when I can afford them.

TV is going on the wall and all wires will be hidden behind it, so I only have 1 chance to get this right.

Where to start..............

Well I'm on a budget I haven't set up anything yet as I can only pick my amp up on Tuesday ( the day before the installer arrives, god I hope it turns up!!)

Here's my amp
http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...KY-TXSR505-SIL

Basically I intend to run the wires below behind the wall direct to the amp:

2 x 5M scart leads behind the wall
5M HDMI cable
5M Component Cable
5M Audio Phono Cable
+ Wires going directly to speakers 5.1

I'm hoping some kind soul can give this the once over and check if there are going to be any issues, I really hope not.

My TV is capable of 1080i (can't get 1080p) don't know if I should be bothered or not about this, I've got 1080i on the Xbox and it always blows me away.

When I get Sky and my PS3 I'm going to plug those into my 2 HDMI slots on the back of the amp and hopefully this is all they need and can be HDMI switched by the amp as required (hopefully.........................)

In the component amp slots I'm having the Wii, 360 and the DVD plugged in to those, I'll have the 5M component going from the Amp directly to the Tv along with these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?...03AJ&DOY=28m10
not sure if those sound cables are actually needed but they are cheap and it won't hurt to have them in. (I do hope I have understood this correctly and this is what the Amp is for, for taking video signals etc, my tv only has 1 input component slot so again hopefully this is correct).

As for sound I'll have an optical cable for the 360, a coaxial for the Dvd and not sure about the Wii, I'll probably just use the phono sound from the tv which comes with the official Wii component cable, the Digi box will go via scart which is fine.

I'm hoping this all makes sense and that I haven't missed anything, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to these things so just want to check there won't be any complications or omissions when my installer comes to channel the wall out and mount the tv.

Thanks in advance

Well, I think you have it pretty much spot on. The Onkyo receiver you're getting has 2 HDMI inputs up to 1080p, allowing video passthrough (no scaling), and 3 component inputs up to 1080i. As your plasma is 1080i, this should be just fine. You will need to run those stereo RCA cables in order to carry the sound associated with the component-connected devices (component is video only). I think you've figured this out already, but that amp will only switch inputs to outputs of the same type. ie..hdmi in to hdmi out, component in to component out. Good luck & enjoy!

Great thanks m8, that was really what I wanted to hear, was worried I had missed something or had made an error.

I know it's not going to be the best set up ever, but I'm operating on a tight budget so I'm hoping the results will be ok.

thank's for putting my mind at ease
