Mounted LCD - how far does yours stick out?

I've encountered a slight problem with my Av install. I want to mount my projector screen so that it drops down just in front of my LCD panel. However, after several goes with cloudy Sony TVs, I'm back in the market for a panel. I'd like to get my projector screen up now, but with no panel in place I'm having trouble deciding on the optimum distance from the wall.

I'd be grateful if you could let me know how far out from the wall your mounted lcd (or plasma) is. I realise that the TVs I've been looking at are around 11cm deep , but the brackets seem to vary. It would be really helpful to get some 'real world' measurements before I start knocking holes in my joists. Perhaps you could let me know the size of the TV too (37", 42" etc)

Any help appreciated.

FWIW my 32" Sony LCD TV is 125mm from the wall to the frontmost part of the case. Of course you may not have the same bracket as me and a 37" may also be slightly thicker? My PJ screen can drop in front of this due to some careful measurements when installing. See my pictures in the members gallery if you like:

Re: Mounted LCD - how far does yours stick out?

Okay, one bit of helpful info to go on, but it would be great to have a few more examples so I don't put my projector screen in the wrong place!

I see from AV Rabbit that there are lcd mounts which are around an inch thick, however, I seem to remember that the instructions for the Sony LCD I had for a while which suggested that the TV should be a minimum of 6cm from the wall.

Of course, I could simply plan for an 11cm TV plus 2.5cm for the mount. But if it turns out that I need to factor in an extra 3.5 cm to keep my TV properly ventilated, I rather only do this if necessary.

I'm still interested in some real-world stats!

Thanks
