Cables behind walls

Hi there, Im new to the forum, just had a quick question. I think im in the right section!
Basically my family and I are moving into a new house in the next few months and the one we are keen on currently has a 5.1 system installed with the wiring all behind the walls. I'm pretty sure the previous owners will remove the system when they leave the house but I want to install our current 5.1 system (with the wiring hanging around the walls!) into the holes left by the previous system, just wondered how i would go about getting the cabling through the holes again.
Going to be fitting a projector in there as well in the future.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Cables behind walls

Hi and welcome. Are you sure they will remove all the cables? It may be more hassle than it is worth for them to do so. Its certainly asking your estate agent / solicitor the question and you may be able to come to some sort of deal if things are where you want them to be. If they definitely are removing the cables it is also worth asking if they would tie a draw string to the end of the cables before they pull them out and this way all you need to do is attach yours to the draw string and hey presto! job done...presuming there are not too many studs and corners to go through and around!

Otherwise it looks like you will have to resort to coat hangers and bits of wire.

Re: Cables behind walls

Are they not likely to leave the speaker cable in the walls - it would probably be more hassle that it would be worth the remove it...
