Dedicated HC - which of these 2 rooms would you use?

Hi @. We're moving house in a few weeks and I'll at last have the chance to have a dedicated home cinema room. Our new place has a detached 2-story barn that just needs a bit of plastering to make it perfectly habitable. Obviously in the early stages of planning the room, I need to choose which floor to convert into a dedicated home cinema & study (I work from home). Both rooms will be totally cleared & empty when we move in. Both are about the same size, floor-wise... 30ft x 15ft. The main difference is the floor construction and the ceiling. The downstairs has a concrete floor, and a flat, beamed ceiling. The upper floor has fairly tall eaves & pine (I think) floorboards, with horizontal ceiling joists across the width of the room. I'm pretty sure the joists are high enough to provide enough space for a screen below, and I guess the screen box could be concealed behind the beam.

Currently, I'm thinking the upper floor would be best as the roof should eliminate standing waves, whereas the ground floor is very rectangular. Having said that, I wonder whether a concrete floor would be better sound-wise. As part of the project, I'll be getting a new pj & screen , and both rooms will be easy to light-control.

Any thoughts? Cheers!

I worked in an old barn type building with vaulted ceiling not dissimilar to the one in the picture. The acoustics were terrible!! Voices travelled along the room and it could get very echo-like on occasion.

My initial thought beyond this is the way a decent sub may sound across the floorboards, I would imagine it would be happier on a solid floor.
