Converting a garage to games room/cinema

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so please bear with me!

We're hoping to start on a bit of conversion of our garage soon.
It's quite a big area - double width electric garage door and then widens out even further towards the back.
We're not after a top-notch home cinema room, more of a multi-function social space complete with bar, pool table, sound system,tv, projector and screen - a bit like a pub, but at home
The main use will be to watch sky TV on the big screen, and feed it through speakers. But also we'll want to play music (possibly via a pc connected to the web but open to suggestions) also through the speakers.
So, can anyone offer any advice on what equipment we'd need to look into getting to cover all of this?
I keep getting bamboozled by all the different gadgets available!

Hope you can help, cheers for now
ellgee
