Laying Cables

Hi all,
hope this is the right forum for this. I'm currently setting up a sorrund sound system and I need to run 2 speaker cables to the rear satellite speakers behind the counch.
The cable needs to run along the floor beside the skirting and bay window from the receiver to the back of couch. Unfortunately I cannot remove the skirting or the wooden floor!!!

Can anyone advise on the neatest way to do this? I don't want to do any permemant damage to the floor, ie nailing, tacking or super gluing cables to the floor.

My initial plan was to use Pritt Stick and simply glue the cables to the floor. Pritt Stick is easy to wash off so no damage to the floor. Unfortunately it wasn't strong enough to hold the cable down. Another thought I had was to use double sided sellotape.

Can anyone advise on what they have done in the past?

Cheers
Shane

Re: Laying Cables

Cheers Mike,
unfortunately I've a big bay window in the middle so there is no skirting along this part. This is why I need to stick the cables to the flooring instead.

Re: Laying Cables

Hi.
I had to lay my surround cables last weekend. You say you have a wooden floor.... are there any edging strips attached to the skirting board? If so, prise them off and run the cable around the edge of the floor as there should be a gap. I suppose you could get hold of some dark insulation tape, the closer match to the floor colour the better.

Re: Laying Cables

Skirting is both glued and nailed to the wall (asked the builders) so no chance of this coming off!!! No gaps between the skirting and flooring to slip cable under either.

I think either double sided Sellotap or insulating tape is the way to go

Cheers
