Blue ikea lights

Just a quick question or two before i purchase.

1. Are they as effective in the corner of a room. Ive seen plenty of pictures when they are flat against a wall. Just wondering if they look as effective as my TV is in the corner.
2. Is there a seperate switch to turn them on and off with or is it a case of flicking the plug socket on and off each time you want them on (the plug switch is difficult to get at)

Thanks in advance
Andy

P.S Pics would be nice

Re: Blue ikea lights

I don't own the lights but you could put a switch on the flex.

Cool Re: Blue ikea lights

i was going to get those ikea lights but i wanted a switch too, also if the lights die u have to replace the set.
im going to get a set of lights from noodleman u will find him in the lighting section he has lights that come with a switch and if a light goes u can replace one individually.

Re: Blue ikea lights

The IKEA Trettioen LED lights come with a switch on the power cable.

Got a set, but haven't fitted them yet. They do seem to be better (brighter) than neons IMHO.

Re: Blue ikea lights

Sure, but at the moment I'm not too sure where they're going to go....
Currently got 2 x 12" blue neon tubes behind my 32" LCD which are not as pleasing as I'd have expected. I might replace them with the 4 x IKEA LEDs or use the IKEAs elsewhere for ambience (shelving, cupboards, etc).

Re: Blue ikea lights

The Ikea lights definitely do have an in line switch.

They can either be fitted using the screws or sticky pads provided. As they are LEDS they should last a very long time.

Hi ADC, I know the ikea lights are a bargain but if you got some more money to spend try this lights: http://www.av-sales.co.uk/products.php?cat=351&nav=27 I got them and the ikea light can't look that good, they light blue and very great to look at, the ikea look is a bit too hard for my point of vue. But anyway it's a personal choice. Whatever you choose, enjoy!!!
