My HC

This is what my room used to look like

Very messy to say the least

Decided to have a change.... got my Grandad round (he is brilliant when it comes to DIY) and came up with this plan (please excuse the very wide plan for the TV )

So went to my local Focus and got the work underway

Everything taken off the shelves

Everything stripped out

Ooooh all 'Tonge and Grooved'

Main top shelf in -

And ended up with this -

Got my Blu Ray player coming hopefully by the end of the week, and at that point I will tidy up all the wires

Took less than 2 days to do and I am very very pleased with it to say the least

Still contemplating putting some doors on for the 'wardrobe', got the spare wood to do it, but I'll see how I get on with this for the time being

Re: My HC

if it were me i would put some black smoked glass as doors and use a set of the trettion lights from ikea behind to light it up, supercool, especially with them cool figures on the shelves.

Re: My HC

Oh what you mean on the display shelves?

I was actually planning on leaving them as it is, but thanks for the suggestion I will look into that.... never thought of putting some glass doors on them

Re: My HC

Wonderful job, looks absolutely lovely.

I have to agree with the glass doors (anti-sun bronze is a lovely dark colour)

It would realy finish it off

Re: My HC

Fair play to your Grandfather for doing that for you.

Chose the doors wisely to finish it all off and it'll look 'the mutts nuts'

Re: My HC

Nothing wrong with my shirts

I guess it's something I will definatly consider for the future (doors), but not really planning on adding to it at the moment but I will definatly have a look around to see how much they would likely cost

They may be a little expensive because you will need to get them toughened (for safety), drilled for both hinges and handle and polished edges for obvious reasons.

I reckon about £25 a door, alternatively you could have 1 large door in the display cabinet cutting back on the expense of the drilling for the holes, hinges and handles etc.

Love the idea of lights in the cabinet that will defo look the dogs gonnads
