Recessed TVs - what happens in the future?

Reading another thread on here about recessing a TV into a chimney breast got me thinking - what will these people do when the time comes to upgrade or replace their TV? Will they buy a TV that fits the old recess, or will they rip the wall out and start again?

I have recessed my plasma in a stud wall which basically extends the chimmney breast outwards. In the event of the plasma dying, (which hopefully won't be in the next 5 years at least) i'll build a new stud wall to suit the new one, guess if other people don't DIY, then it might be an issue.

Mine's also a false wall but I made the hole bigger than I really needed to allow for upgrade or change at a later date as you can see below

A good idea to make the hole bigger, and adding the lighting turns it into a feature. Excellent

Also, instead of potentially having to rip down your stud wall in the future if your current screen needs repair or you want access to the sockets, why not mount it using a bracket that allows access after the TV is in place? One with adjustable reach should do the trick, something like this?
