Working fires and wall mounting LCD - good idea?

Im looking at a Sony X series when i move in a few months time - builders now at work

anyway looking to mount it above the fire - good idea????

it will be a fully working fire

Whats the best piping to use to bury in the wall so i can run piping down it?

The chimeny actually runs on the outside of the building so there is no visable breast inside if you know what i mean

any ideas? job i can get the builders to do for me anyway

Merry Christmas

Hi

It really depends on your fire. If it projects most of the heat forwards like a lot of modern electric fires do, then you might be OK.

Personally, I would never do it though...

Ok so if the fire projects most of the heat out and its only warm above its ok?

the fire surround it also quite chunky

best way would be to use a thermometer to check out hot it is suppose

but if it was fine what would be the best way to do it? to get the cables to the AV equipment to the TV?

looking at always having

2/3 HDMI devices(Sky HD, Blurry and HD-DVD)
then just getting the power cable up there

so would need 2/3 inch piping of some sort???
