TV Mount on plasterboard.

Hi all

How many of you have used one of these on plasterboard?

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showt...light=slimline

I've just purchased one and it seems pretty heavy. Will a plasterboard wall hold this and a 37" Toshiba.

Re: TV Mount on plasterboard.

Paul,

That's the mount I discussed in your previous thread...

Mounting 37" LCD TV on Plasterboard

.. which I used to mount to a plasterboard wall with no attachment to any battens, just using hollow wall anchors.

I agree it does seem heavy but as long as you attach it properly, the wall will hold it and the TV with no problem. As a test before putting the TV on I loaded the mount with about 30kg of dumb-bell weights (the 37" Tosh weighs about 22 kg).

Hi mate.

Yes I remember I just wanted to see if it had been done more than once. Whats the picture like on your TV? I was going to buy the 32" but have now been tempted to buy the 37". Looks excellent in the pic you sent me.

Re: TV Mount on plasterboard.

The picture is very good. Sky+ via RGB Scart and DVD via HDMI.

Some people on here have had problems with buzzing, lines across the picture and small viewing angles, but ours has been perfect straight out of the box. I think a lot of the problems have been with the 37WLT66 (i.e. with Freeview).

The picture settings take some adjustment but there are plenty of posts with suggested settings in the LCD TV section.

We were also thinking of getting the 32" originally but I'm glad we went for the 37" - the 32" would have been just too small.

Yes I agree. Once mounted on the wall it would have looked pretty small.
