New Project - Cabling

We are completing a renovation project in which I would like to kit one room out as a home cinema - I haven't got the time to plan it yet but the builders have batonned out and eager to get on with the first fix and so on. I plan to place a plasma on the wall so woudl like to run the cables between the plasma location and the cupboard where everything else will be placed. Can anyone offer advice on which cables I should put in place. Same on speaker cables please. Also does anyone know of a site offering a noddies guide to home cinema so that I can do some research?

Thanks

Have you purchased your plasma ?

If so, does it require a single cable to connect to a media box, or will your scarts, HDMI's etc... have to be individually connected to your Plasma ?

If you can run a 3" drainpipe with a 90deg bend at top and bottom between the two points - that will let you feed any possible cables through as and when.

i totally agree with james...install the smals piping in a square shape around each wall and this will let you run speaker cables video cables when they are finished with only a tiny amount of drilling. have wired by hand behind plaster board just recently, it is a pain in the ass doing it...
