On the Wall at Last! Panny PE50 - 56k Warning

What a job I thought this would be, stud finder found no stud so thought I'd be bolting the plywood to the wall with anchor bolts.

Cut away the plaster board slightly larger than the wall bracket and found some narroe studs in funny places, width not enough for my bracket though.

Cut plywood to size and fitted in the gap, with about 20+ 1" wood screws, then sealed the edges.

Bracket got mounted to the plywood with 6 x M8 Coachscrews so it ain't budging.

The finished job - finally!!!

Looks spot on mate although i wouldve been tempted to cut those flimsy looking wooden studs out and fix directly to the brick work but ias long as it feels solid you shouldnt have any problems!

Nice job

Why didn't you just drill straight into the brick, without cutting away the plasterboard and putting in all that plywood?

Well then his fixings would be pulling against the plasterboard , fixing a piece of ply in there and then fixing the screen to that offers a much stronger fixing!
This isnt an option for some poeple , different houses are built in different ways i guess!

drilling in the brick was the 1st option as I wasn't aware of any stud being present but when i found them i thought it easier to use them. i'l prob going to re-decorate later this year so will make a bit more effor to bury the cables. not sure if i'm happy with that av stand either (can see too may cables) so may change that as well.

Equipment is nothing fancy (from top to bottom)

Panansonic DVD Player S29 connected via component
Telewest TV Drive via RGB Scart
Kenwood CD Player
Cambridge Audio Amp
Denon RDS Tuner
Kenwood Tape Deck

NokiaUk,
Very smart, a tidy job.

Can I ask where you got the upright DVD rack from and the wall mounted CD rack? Been looking for something similar for my living room that isn't too big....

Thanks in advance....!
