Recent TH37PV500 Install....pretty basic

Phase 1 - Preapring the Chimney Breast

1. Old 28" JVC and fireplace removed. Poor quality due to camera phone.

2. Removal of Fire place brick revealed quite weak structure so a new front and rear lintel were added for strength.

3. Sky+ wires plumbed in new location and new mains loop added under the floorboards.

4. Front Lintel added.

5. My mate bricking the remaining space from the fireplace up. Top chap - very handy.

Phase 2 - Building the MDF Box to house components and prepping central wiring hole

I will look forward to the progression of this.

I was going to do the same when I had my flat- but I was always a bit scared incase the thing fell in. It was an old victorian style flat so it had been there long enough.

I bet the dust just now is terrible!

Thanks very much. It need a bit of tiding, but overall it does exactly what I wanted it to do - which was free up some space in the front room.

Thats fantastic - and an option I'm considering doing.

What about ventilation to the chimney stack?

I left the stack open, but fitted a cowl on top to stop water falling in.
Natural cooling for the equipment.

All that hard work is great, as you spent that much you could have gone for 42PV500

Kind comments guys....

Ventalation - there is an inch gap between the bottom of the drain pipe and the top of the MDF cabinet - this has some gauze around it to stop dust but allow air. Works a treat. Amps a bit tight, but there is about 2" inside the lip of the shelf so not too bad.

Centre Speaker - Yip, the two wire sticking out above the TV on the very last shot now go into a Tannoy EFX centre. Not wonderful kit but good enough for now. New Picture attached to show centre channel...

TH42PV500 - I'm more than happy with the 37" - it's not a very big room. Most of the viewing seats are a maxmimum of 8 feet away - I think 37" is just right for the room size. Besides the 37" was £1685 and the 42" was £1999. Quite a difference.

Thats really good, which i had shown some installation pictures on my bedroom. Being 16 i dont have control over what happens in the livingroom, but this makes me want to try and persuade the parents to do it

DAIPAC - I did have a fireplace in there, ripped the whole lot out, got rid of everything and capped off the gas and stuck it below the floor boards as we never used the fire because the radiators are tip top in that room.

Thanks again guys for the comments.
