Hitachi PWT002 Wall Mount

Hi, I would just like to say this is a great forum and love coming here everyday to catch up on the new technolgy. I have recently purchased a Hitachi 42PD7500 which I would like to wall mount on a brick, render and plaster chimney breast. No fire so no heat issues. I purchased a PWT002 bracket for the purpose. My problem is the type of fixings I should use. The holes in the bracket are 7mm. Ideally the fixings I would like to use are steel rawlplugs but these are only available in M6 or M8. The only 7mm ones that are available are Plastic plug with a bolt head screw, will these be sufficient if I use eight. Also what length fastner is the best to use. Thanks in advance.

Hi peacock , personally , i wouldnt use anything which involved a plastic rawl plug when hanging a plasma screen. You need some sort or anchor sleeve fixing or threaded rod with nuts!

As for the 7mm issue , surely the easy way round using a bigger fixing is to buy a 10 , 12 , 14 mm whatever drill bit and just drill the hole out bigger?

As per usual the answer was staring me in the face, could not drill the holes in the bracket larger because they are elongated holes and would have made a mess of the bracket, also there isn't much metal on the edges of the holes so it would have made the bracket much weaker, Hitachi supplied eight M6 washers with the mount for fixing to the wall. So only M6 rawlplugs would fit in anycase. So I used 8 times M6 60mm steel rawlpugs, double what it shows in the instructions. Gradually built up the 12mm hole using a 6mm, 10mm and then 12mm with hammer switched off on the drill to keep a perfect hole. Fixings took very well to the wall and its been up for 24 hours so far ok, touch wood. I guess if a radiator is held on the wall with four 2 inch screws in plastic rawlplugs then there shouldn't be any issues. Thanks for the replys guys.

people seem to forget this. i have never seen / heard of a radiator coming of the wall.

makes me look daft as well as i put 8 m8 raw bolts in the wall to hold my tv but only 4 rawplugs for the radiator and the radiator is a hell of a lot heavier than the tv
