MLV, Resilient channel or green glue, any of those will do, though MLV or GG will keep in your 'spacing'

You might like to use gyproc soundbloc board instead of normal plasterboard.

Does Greenglue actually work that well then Matty?

What would be the options of applying it to the back of a picture frame or similar to give some room treatment?

greenglue needs to be sandwiched between 2 solids, be it mdf or plasterboard to work, constrained layer dampning is the technical term. Best applied in wall construction, like if your building from scratch or if your building out the wall. lots of installation advice on audioalloy site.

The figures from independant lab testing suggest it does indeed work well and the testimonials suggest it also does what it says on the tin.

Hi MattyM,

I am very interested in the Green glue that you have been talking about. I have looked on the website, but there do not seem to be any costs yet? Are there any, and is it available to purchase in the UK yet?

Also will it work if it is applied between an exsisting wall and a layer of plasterboard? The existing wall I believe is brick, which has been plastered, but I am not positive, as I am not very knowledgable on this sort of construction work.

Any sort of help on this would be good.

Thanks

Ricky

i dont know plasterboard and fiberglass costs, but i will look into it and develope a costing
You would need from 1 to 3 tubes of Green per sheet of Plasterboard, depending on how much soundproofing you would want to acheive(and budget also)
