Hello all
I currently have my Pio PDP435XDE wall mounted above a fireplace (brick wall, no plasterboard) but want to conceal the cables.
My setup is very simple - no amp/speakers, just a single cable from the Pio media box to the screen, plus the mains cable from the screen to the plug socket.
The media box and mains sockets are located to the right chimney alcove as you face the screen (not that it makes a difference, but may help you visualise!).

So, a few questions for you clever folks (apologies as they are no doubt very obvious to most of you):
1. I assume the cables will need to be channeled into the wall, round the corner of the chimney and down to the skirting. How would these channels terminate at the wall - would the wires literally be coming out of the wall or would I fit some sort of face plates?
2. Would the channels need to be filled with a plastic conduit, and if so would this need to be wide enough for me to pull through the cables and plugs if I needed to?
3. Should the video and mains cables be in separate conduits?
4. Should I fit/be thinking about fitting other cables?
5. Is this work for a builder, electrician, AV specialist, a combination of these, etc?

1. wall plates are a lot neater and easier to swap equipment with
2.channels i would recommend be filled with conduit, i read some where here that plaster and cement can eat your cables. but i dont you think you will get wide enough to pull mains plugs through
3. keep video and mains seperate
4. think about adding high def , component should you uprgade your system in a few years
5. depends on how good you are at DIY

ditto the above - only thing is with wall plates is that you have to solder the wire to the back of them (the one's i have seen anyhow), it easier to leave the cable coming out the wall if you can hide it
