Ok.... my home cinema seemed complete and now I have purchased a nice shiney projector!!!

I have got myself a Panasonic AE700- and it is superb!!!

The plan was to put the projector on a rack in the back corner of the room... the rack would also hold my kit as well. I moved the kit and fitted the screen etc. buut I was trying to get too much out of the lense shift!!

I have now mounted the projector onto the wall an the picture is superb!!

My only problem now is that I have visable wires coming from the PJ to the kit.... would you 1. hide the wiring under some trunking and simply paint it to match the walls? or 2. put the wiring behind the wall (which of course will be messy)?

Yup.

Otherwise, if you're planning to stay in that house for 5 years or more than channel the cable into the wall. < 5 years then go for trunking.

Here we go folks.... the first pictures of the PJ set up. I currently have no TV as it got taken away for repair.... the unit looks bare as theres usually a 42" Sony rear-pro/lcd tv on it, however, it wont be long before its back

I am awaiting new component and scart cables (5m) that will be long enough to put the DVD player back on the rack!! When its back on the rack it will be getting replaced by a prog. scan player.

A bit of work to be done with the cables, so hopefully this will be done over the weekend and fresh pics will be shown of the system complete!!

The picture quality of the PJ is superb- its just a pity I am rotten at taking pictures and I therefore dont do it any justice.

Looks good and looking at the PJ and wires etc i think that trunking will be just fine.

If you do use trunking with an adhesive back do be aware that it leaves a real mess on the wall if you ever need to pull the trunking away/off.

Thats the problem... if the trunking does have to come away then it will be a bit of a mess!! but then i suppose if i put a couple of holes in the wall then that will make a bit if a mess also. I went to get the trunking yesterday and forgot!!!

I did however... manage to change the ceiling light in the room and successfully install a spot light.......and............ it works!!!

Mason, where did you get the shelf thing for your PJ from?

It's looks a lot like the shelf I got from B&Q for my 14" portable with a wooden shelf replacing the metal one that came with it.

From memory i think it is a piece of pineboard fixed to a tv wall bracket.
