Best way to mount a PJ screen?

Hi guys

I have a question - i intend to mount a pj screen above my plasma as part of my redecorating/home cinema project

projector screen will require a 7 inch clearence from the wall due to the plasma and speakers sticking out (also wall mounted) - my question is whats the best way to mount a screen in this manner?

do i get a 7" thick lump of wood, if so do i get even longer bolts??? its an internal wall dividing my house and next door so its very sold as its holding the plasma up..

if this is indeed the way to go - would you have two lumps of wood at each end to mount the screen or one long bit - any difference with regard to the load it has to carry?

apologies in advance if this is a stoopid question but im not 100% on what to do so any help appreciated!

Kind regards

Sy

Why are you trying to mount it on the wall at all in that case - what's wrong with the ceiling?

ceiling is a no go - i want to build a surround for it on the wall to hide the housing and also there is no access from above because of flooring if i need to gain access to joists...

do people use brackets - worth considering?
