Wiring up a System

I have recently upgraded my TV and combined DVD/home music centre, plus I have a Video recorder and an old OnDigital box.

TV – Philips 30pf9975 with the following inputs
1. Video
2. Audio L/R
3. 4 Scarts for DVD, Video and Digibox
4. RGB
5. S-Video
6. TV aerial IN

DVD – Sony DAV S300 with the following inputs/outputs
1. Video 1 – 6 phonos for video in/out and audio L/R in/out
2. Video 2 – 3 phonos for video in and audio L/R in
3. Video – single phono for video to monitor
4. S-Video (DVD only)
There are no scarts.

Video Recorder – JVC HR-S6965EK with the following inputs/outputs
1. L2 in – Scart to TV
2. L1 in – Scart In/Digital decoder
3. Audio L/R
4. TV aerial in
5. TV aerial out

Nokia ON-Digital FreeView Box – Mediamaster 9850T
with the following inputs/outputs
1. S/PDIF output to HiFi system
2. Audio L/R out
3. Scart for TV out
4. Scart for Auxiliary
5. TV aerial in
6. TV aerial out

I would like information on precisely how to wire these together and what kind/make/price of leads necessary

djchapple,

Lets have a go then.
Starting with the RF video signal
From your wall socket, into MediaMaster ( TV Aerial In)
From MediaMaster (TV Aerial Out), into VCR (TV Aerial In)
From VCR (TV Aerial Out), into Philips TV (TV Aerial In)

Scart Video signals
From Mediamaer (Scart to TV), into VCR (L1)
From VCR (L2), into Philips TV (RGB Scart or standard Scart)

S-Video Signal
DVD (S-Video) to Philips TV (S-Video)

Audio Signals
Does your Sony DAV S300 provide optical inoputs?
Mediamaster (optical) to Sany DAV S300 (If available)
or
Mediamaster (Audio L/R), into Sony DAV S300 (Video 1 - Audio L/R)
VCR (Audio L/R), into Sony DAV S300 (Video 2 - Audio L/R)

As for cables, depends on your budget. Have a look at QED

I think this is right, anyone else want to comment?

I've got everything working bar one.

I have taken two phono leads (red and white) from the two Audio Receiver OUT sockets on the Philips 30pf9975 and taken them to the Video 1 Audio Input sockets on the Sony ADAV S300.

This should allow me to use the Sony to play the sound from the Tv but it does not work.

I have the double disadvantage of being ancient and new to this past time. Please take pity and help!
