Unhappy Ghosting and scart???

Hi there,

I experience some light form of ghosting (both video and audio) when playing DVD or VHS from my DVD/VHS combo on my TV-set. I use a standard Scart cable.

A little "google-ing" gave me two possible solutions:

1. Buying a better scart cable: more shielding off noise

2. Disconnecting PIN 20 (or 19??) of the scart plug on the TV side. TV sets seem to give back a signal from their tuner even if you feed and external DVD/VHS signal at the same time, causing the interference or ghosting.

Who kows the correct solution?

Many thanks in advance.

Marcel

I used to get that on my old 14" / VHS setup!

I could see a faint ghost of whatever channel the TV was on before I selected Scart input to watch a video. I never realised the TV sent a signal back. Wow.. an eight year old mystery solved. Ta

I came up with two solutions -

1 - Put the telly on an untuned channel before selecting Scart.

2 - Purchased a better Scart lead.
