Sub speaker sizes

When does a woofer become too big as a speaker, e.g. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...715353600&rd=1 24" sub I mean that's just ludicrous, isn't it?

they have one in a car audio dealer locally, i thought it was a mock up!!!!
