I need to run speaker wire from the one side of my flat to the rear.

Previously I have used basic white electrical trunking sat just underneath some white coving and it has been hardly noticable. This time however, my rear speakers will not be positioned at ceiling level so the running of cable under the coving is not an option as the wire will have to travel down the wall

I have a wooden floor and wooden (stained) skirting. Does anyone know of anywhere that does coloured trunking, preferably wood coloured, or indeed wooden trunking?

closest you will get is brown colored, but it will unlikely look like wood. For wooden trunking, the only type i have ever seen is that done diy or by a carpenter

WHy not remove the skirting and use a router to make a custom cable channel on the rear.

I did this all round my cinema and fitted surface mount sockets for all audio and video.. beats channeling into walls and suchlike

Ixos sell a self adhesive flat cable but that's white. Why not use that and paint your floorboards white to disguise it.

There is indeed a wood effect trunking available from a specialist manu. It comes in Mahog, Pine, Cherry and a Paintable version and with 1,2 or 3 compartments.

Contact Newy and Ayre or CEF (city electrical factors) or Edmundsons. They will all have a copy of Professional Electrical magazine (for free) which should have the adverts in.
