cheap sound deadening material?

cheap sound deadening material?

is there anything cheapish that works, im making a small enclosure with ported front for a sub under the stairs, any advice?

Will the material be going into the sub enclosure? Or under the stairs?

the enclosure is in a cupboard under the stairs, ive seperated the cupboard and intend to sound proof that smallish area. if you get my drift?

Pretty sure i understand.

In which case make sure all the sides of the enclosure are solid, no rattling or panels that will vibrate easily. This may mean poping some extra screws into any timebr thats slightly lose.

You want the space to be perfectly airtight, if you can get some silicon or caulk sealer, and fill any gaps.

For lining the sides CPC have sheets of foam egg-crat/packing material that's not too expensive, it'll be worth lining the enclosure with this, and also some wadding, also available from CPC.

Wickes do a 30mm high density slab that may be suitable for internal soundproofing of your enclosure.
