I once heard that THX or Dolby had a web page showing some suggested colour schemes for rooms that were dual purpose (living space & cinema), but I can't find anything.

Does anyone have a link that could give me some ideas (that are also wife friendly)

Try 'Chocolate suede' from the Crown range... works for me!

Not very wife friendly! But I agree it is a lovely colour for a cinema.

What I'm after is a colour scheme (you know, with 3 walls one shade, and the other the 'accent' colour) but good enough for light absorbsion, that will not make the lounge look too much like a dedicated cinema room.

Please excuse all the cr*p everywhere, I was installing all the gear when this pic was taken.

It's actually pretty wife friendly (well my missus thinks so!)... looks great with the lights up high.. and very dark when they are in presentation mode... probably due to the fact that the lighter wall is behind the seating position

This can be a good compromise if you don't want the cinema to look like a dungeon IMO

We did our room in something called "warm red" (a B&Q colour). Initially we were only going to do some of the room in that colour, but liked it so much the whole thing got painted it.
