Smile Dedicated Cinema / Games Room

need some input guys.....
pics to follow shortly......
got a spare room thats currantly my gym / junk room.
getting it gutted out, starting last wk....

now.....
room is approx - 17ft x 11ft wide.

this will be a FULLY DEDICATED cinema/gaming room

one end has built in / walk in mirrored wardrobes....

they are now OFF, and the inside is being sorted to fill in holes ect.
THATS GONNA BE MY HOME BAR

projector will be mounted inside bar at ceiling height.
size of home made screen is.....
105" wide / 121" diag / 59" high .approx..maybe larger...but not much
just about fills the wall end to end ( 11ft) roughly.

lighting to be arrange yet....

looking at new black carpet...i wanted red but...the g/f says it will clash with the wall colour..now
heres the prob....
the walls she wants in dark red / almost wine .
ceiling and coving will be matt black.
would a bright red carpet clash with the walls ?
or should i go with the black carpet ?
or.....
all black walls / roof / and red carpet ?
thought the red carpet would look more cinema like
got black velvet drapes for side of screen...
anyhoo.....
got myself 2 x cinema style seats with cup holders ect new from a friend.
already have 5.1 surround system just now.....so sound is covered.

so what ya think guys...what colour scheme ?
and....
is the screen size to big ? .
i thought it would be great for forza...cockpit view driving ...feel as if you are in the dam thing.

any input would be great...

johnny.................

thanks to all on this forum...wealth of info and things to try

Have you considered a carpet in a dark red colour similar to the walls? Black will drive you crazy with bits on it, you'll need to hoover it every time you walk into the room, IMHO.

How far from the screen will the seats be?

Hi,

A viewing distance of 1.3 times screen width tends to get mentioned a lot, and you could use that as a starting point. There's some good info here
