Cat5/6 Outside

Hi All,

As part of my garage conversion I need to get a CAT cable from my upstairs study where the router is to the garage where my plasma/AV centre will be. The easiest way I have been told is to have it come outside from the study for about 1M and then back in.

Are there any specific CAT cables that I should use?

Thanks,
BN

Re: Cat5/6 Outside

I've just used normal cat 5e cable to my garage. It's about a 25 metre run and touch wood, 3 years later it’s still ok.

You can get outdoor cable, but I didn't have any at hand.
