Hey guys,

I'm building a 2-level riser (picture exactly this: http://diy-home-theater-design.com/i...-platform3.jpg )

I've built the top platform out of 2x6's and the bottom platform out of 2x6's and now I need to connect them. Whats the best way to do this? Just throw some screws into them at an angle? I've seen metal plates used that just sit against the sides between the two layers but that doesn't seem "proper".

What's the best way to connect somethign like this?

Screws on a angle like you said or use some straps made out of ply (12"x4") and screw them to the sides of the joists.
