Guidance Required Please

Ive just bought a house and have been rewiring it this week, I decided to stick in some CAT5 cabling in (two to each TV and 4 to where my future Av gear will be). Ive also put in two Coax's in to each Tv aswell. This is all the run back to one area, is there anything else I may need to install whilst I am at it?

Also what sort of cabling to projectors?

Any other input appreciated!

Re: Guidance Required Please

Hi again over here!

It might be worth laying a few more CAT5 (or make it CAT6?) runs. My living room AV needs 8. Also I put in 2 for the other rooms and now find for at least one room 4 would have been better. Two is fine for the other rooms, even where I am using one for the phone.

While you are cabling you could be thinking any of the following as it is probably better to take care of them at this stage:

- speaker cable runs
- lighting, loads of possibilities there - for example LEDs
- multiroom control cabling - for example for infrared

Hope this gives you some ideas

What did you decide on re the wiring? I would suggest as many Cat5 as you can get. My Media PC, TV, Blu Ray & Freesat all have CAT5 connected to my Router, there's 4 gone straight away!

Re: Guidance Required Please

Bedrooms have two CAT 5 and Two coax at each TV. Living room has two CAT5 at TV then 4 where the AV cupboard will be, plu two coax at tv and Two at Av cabinet, Also wired for Speakers in the loung. May Put Two speaker cables in Kitchen for future multi-room audio. There are other various Cat 5's around house too, for wired internet/phones. Im just gonna put them all in the patch panel then try to figure out the workings of it after!
